Depending on guest preferences, visits to our family winery can be included in the itinerary of our tours.
Home / Our Winery
Wine production in our family began in 1921, when our great-great-grandfather Josip Pečarević returned to the island of Vis after 11 years of working in Argentina. With the money he earned, he purchased our family home and one of the vineyards. To this day, both the vineyard and the house remain in our family’s possession. It is in this very house that we produce wine, host guided presentations of the winemaking process, and offer wine tastings.
During the second half of the 20th century, our family continued to acquire additional land and gradually increased production capacity.
Today, our vineyards cover two hectares across three separate locations. We cultivate three varieties of white grapes: Kuc (also known as Trbljan), Kurteloška, and Bogdanuša. The only red grape variety we grow is Plavac Mali, which we use to produce red wine, dessert red wine, and rosé.
In addition to winemaking, we are also engaged in olive cultivation and olive oil production. We manage an olive grove of 390 trees, spread across three micro-locations on the island of Vis.
The olive varieties include
• Oblica
• Levantinka
• Italian cultivar Leccino.
Our winery is located in the old town center of Vis, in the area known as Kut. The address is Kranjčevićeva Street No. 4, Vis.
Depending on guest preferences, visits to our family winery can be included in the itinerary of our tours. The wine tasting lasts between 45 and 60 minutes and includes a sampling of all listed wines, as well as our extra virgin olive oil.
The winery has a capacity of up to 20 guests and tastings are conducted for only one group at a time, ensuring privacy and a personalized experience for each visitor.
We believe that wine is an essential part of the heritage and history of Vis, which is why viticulture and winemaking are key elements of our historically themed tours.
Winery visits are available to all guests, regardless of whether they have previously participated in one of our tours.
